1965 - After earning money in America Martin Michaeli established Mephisto in the city of Sarrebourg France.
1973 - Patent applications submitted for special and exclusive shoe manufacturing methods.
1975 - Mephisto became a global brand.
1987 - Introduced into the North American market.
2004- Mephisto is awarded the best shoe maker in France for the third time.
2005 - With over 20,000 locations in the world and export to 62 countries, Martin Michaeli and Mephisto celebrate 40 years of success.

Today Mephisto employs over 2800 people globally and is one of the largest shoe manufacturing companies in Europe. The company is completely owned by Martin Michaeli and his children. Look at "Who's Who In France".

Mephisto manufacturing plants are located in France and Portugal.
All Mephisto shoes are handcrafted. Each pair of Mephisto shoes is handled by 140 different individuals during its manufacture. Great fit has always been one of the main focuses of Mephisto and has be attributed to much of the company's success. Superior fit is the result of function-oriented design, advanced production technology and precision -shaped lasts. Only top-quality materials are used to produce top-quality shoes. For this reason Mephisto Cheaper leathers are not suitable for Mephisto products.
